Bletilla striata is a Chinese herb that grows in a strange place, usually on moss or stone walls. It's probably more common in the southern part of China, especially in the Yangtze River valley, and there are some mountain springs where Bletilla bletilla likes to grow. Bletilla striata contains a polysaccharide with obvious ability to scavenging free radicals in the body. With the increase of polysaccharide concentration, its scavenging effect is gradually enhanced, and the activity of Bletilla striata to scavenging free radicals is higher than that of vitamin E1. Bletilla striata had significant inhibitory effect on MTB and Gram-positive bacteria. It is mainly produced in Gansu, Guizhou, south west of China and other places.
